Sidra Smith

Sidra Smith is a triple treat - director, writer and producer who has been working in the entertainment business since 1994 when she appeared with her twin sister actress Tasha Smith in the film Twin Sitters. She left acting to work as a casting director, producer, writer and director.
Smith's first film as a director, A Luv Tale, Won the Audience Choice Award at both the 1999 Hollywood Black Film Festival and The Atlanta Film Festival. It is scheduled for a release in 2010. The Obama Effect, a film she recently wrote with Charles Dutton has just finished principle photography and will be released soon in a theater near you. For many years, Sidra has produced a wide range of projects such as independent films, reality shows, talk shows, Hip Hop documentaries, a Pan African talk show in West Africa and a series of documentaries on multi-nationals doing business in Africa. She has also worked in the area of corporate advertising, producing print campaigns and commercials for a variety of U.S. and international clients that include American Express, Delta Airlines, IBM and Gateway. Sidra has also worked with companies such as ABC, CBS, Universal Studios, Fox, UPN and Ogilvy & Mather. Sidra has an exceptional ability to provide multidimensional creative influence and her passionate ability to bring the best people together to do great work has made her an outstanding producer. Smith is excited to begin production on Cleopatra, Smiles which she is also directing. |
